The atmosphere, while rich and dignified, gives way to casual comfort. In 2011, the formal Grill Room was transformed into a sports bar.
The traditional walnut paneling and the intimate bar area are still there, but it now also has a billiards table, shuffleboard, lounge chairs, bistro tables and bar stools and eight large, widescreen TVs with all the sports networks provided by Buckeye Cablesystem.
It has become a venue for numerous club events, many of which are organized by the very active Sports Grill & Tavern Committee. Third Thursday in the Tavern is a monthly recurring event. Starting at 6 PM, everyone gathers to socialize and catch up with fellow members. It's also a highly popular spot during major sporting events.
